Sigh . . . I didn’t even know it was going to snow!
Snow Plowing Updates
by Chris Kelley, Streets Superintendent
posted November 25, 2013 6:52 AMThe first snow fall of the year has arrived. Our forecast is calling for light snow this morning and ending by noon today. The snow will cause problems during the morning commute. Drive carefully; drive slowly and brake early and you should give yourself time to stop.
Our 26 salting and sanding crews have been out since around 5:30 am this morning. Salt and salt brine is being applied to our salt routes, which are our main arterials, main connector streets, streets that Madison Metro runs on and streets around schools and hospitals. The weather forecast is calling for snow with around 1″ of snow.
We will continue to salt and plow our salt routes until they are no longer slippery and the snow has been plowed off of them. We will also be sanding the hills, intersections and curves.
Shovel your walks by noon the day after the snow stops.
