Here’s info that I’ve been told as one of the volunteers that you might like to know if you’re going to Miffland tomorrow. And a little more. Basicially, no glass, beer only, no tickets needed to get in to the event, alcohol in the streets needs to be in the “event area” but you can bring your own, music schedule below, expect lots of cops, stay safe, don’t be stupid and you won’t get a ticket.
EVENT AREA
Streets included in the perimeter of the permit are:
· The 400-500 blocks of W. Mifflin St. starting at 6am to 9:00pm.
· The 10 &100 blocks of Bassett St. starting at 11am to 9:00pm.
Bassett will remain open until 11am.
The entry and exits are at:
Mifflin/Broom
Bassett/W Wash
Bassett/Dayton
Mifflin/Bedford
There will be traffic control barricades with signage as follows:
At entry, signage will read:
· NO GLASS PERMITTED
· UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL PROHIBITED
At exit, signage will read:
· NO ALCOHOL BEYOND THIS POINT
AVOIDING TICKETS
Rules to know to avoid tickets:
· Glass containers of any kind are prohibited.
· Only beer is allowed, all other alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
At least one MPD officer will be stationed at each barricade at all times.
· The Majestic will contract with R.T.M. security for the event, who will provide a supervisor and four (4) security personnel at the following locations:
o Two (2) at the stage located on the 400 block of Mifflin, from 7am until 9pm
o One (1) at each bar station (2 total) from 9am until 8pm
· Security will have visible attire that clearly identify them as event security.
· RTM will not enforce open container laws; they can only encourage cooperation.
BEER
· Event beer will be on sale, but participants can bring their own beer.
· You are encouraged to buy at least one event beer. The entertainment, food vending, port-o-potties, and the ability to drink in the street are made possible by event beer sales.
· Participants need a wrist band to buy event beer.
· Wrist bands are free, but participants must show proper ID to get one.
· A wrist band is not required to drink beer in the street.
· Event beer is $3.00/can. Water and non-alcoholic drinks are $2.00/bottle.
· Beer will served at two different locations on the south side of Mifflin Street on either side of Bassett. Beer will be sold in cans at $3.00/can.
· The Majestic will operate two (2) wristband stations, located next to the bars. The Majestic’s trained security staff will handle all ID checking and wrist banding.
· Attendees need to have a wristband in order to purchase beer in the event zone area.
· MPD will not enforce event beer, nor does RTM security have the authority to remove people from the area or take beverages away from people of legal drinking age.
· RTM will not check for underage drinkers, as this is a police function.
· Non alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase such as bottled water and energy drinks at $2.00/bottle.
· Bars will be open from 11am – 6:30pm.

There will be one stage, located at approximately 423 Mifflin St.
The live entertainment schedule will look like this:

DJ 1: 11:45 – 12:30 PM

Band 3: 2:00 – 2:45 PM
DJ 3: 2:45 – 3:30 PM
Band 4: 3:30 – 4:15 PM
DJ 4: 4:15 – 5:00 PM
Band 5: 5:00 – 5:45 PM
DJ 5: 5:45 – 7:00 PM
Tear Down: 7:00 – 9:00 PM
Stage to be torn down immediately following music.
Music will be concentrated on bands and DJs from the Madison area and hopefully UW students.
