What a Shitty Day Round Up

Ok, I took my camera and went back to the capitol yesterday. The best sign I saw simply said “a sad day”. Indeed. If you think yesterday’s round up was depressing . . . well, today’s is worse. Maybe the rain will cleanse away all the “yuck” from yesterday. But probably not.

LOCAL NEWS

Wow. Hard to find.
BIDDY MARTIN OUT!
WSJ not happy. Others are.

MS. MANIACI GOES TO WASHINGTON
Someone else has to get this one, anything I say is suspect. Please ask two questions for me. 1) What is she going to say on our behalf? and 2) Who’s paying? Since we have heard so much about how she can’t afford these junkets its imperative we ask, that’s two in one month.

STATE NEWS

READ IT AND WEEP
4-3, the Supreme court says open meetings laws and our right to know what is going on in our own state government doesn’t matter. It’s shocking. As bad as the Citizen’s United decision. Here’s the Isthmus version of it. Thank you Shirley Abrahamson for your dissent! Alberta Darling makes me sick. Protesters react to the news. You can read it here.

CONCEAL CARRY PASSES SENATE WITH VOTES OF 6 DEMOCRATS
Bleck. What the hell has happened to our state? I watched part of it as they attempted to exempt schools, daycares, polling places, the Capitol and more, and they were all rejected, one by one. Do you feel safer? Or less safe?

GOOD OVERVIEW OF THE BUDGET AS OF LAST NIGHT
Assembly going to go into session at 9am. This outlines all the evil in the bill really well, but has some hope for WiscNet and Transit workers.

BUT TRANSIT WORKERS STILL NOT REALLY PROTECTED FROM PAY CUTS
It’s the nature of bargaining.

REPUBLICANS TRY THEIR LUCK IN COURT AGAIN
So, it worked once, now they want to throw out the recall elections. They probably have the votes, 4 – 3. Can you say Kloppenberg?

PHOTOS FROM YESTERDAY
Thanks Phil. Good to see thousands on the square yesterday and the rotunda getting filled back up.

DEAR MILLERCOORS
Well done. Even WSJ thinks the beer brouhaha doesn’t belong in the budget. Must have friends in the craft brewing industry.

POOR TONETTE
Do you feel sorry for Mrs. Scott Walker?

THERE ARE SOME LIMITS TO THE REPUBLICAN GIVEAWAYS TO THEIR CRONIES
Apparently, there are a few.

A CALL FOR REPUBLICANS TO STAND WITH WISCONSIN
Good luck with that.

PEOPLE CONTINUE TO STAND STRONG AGAINST WMC
Not losing focus. Here’s the video.

A SILVER LINING?
Is this the revolution? Will the movement grow in Wisconsin and beyond? Autonomous Solidarity is hoping to keep the movement going and keeping it positive.
