2 charges . . . both pretty bogus.
The primary charge – $429 for trespassing – I wrote about here. I was arrested along with 8 others – Meg Rothstein, Tami Miller, Ed Kuharski, Allen Barkoff, Anne Lyttle and Noah Phillips all went to jail with me. Sasha and Steve Burns also got tickets.
The other, driving after suspension of my license (which I didn’t even know about!) I wrote about here and really feels like police harassment due to my engagement with Occupy Madison. More random and selective enforcement by the City of Madison.
The other random and selective enforcement has a court date on Monday. It’s the $11,000, now potentially $30,000 Mr. Vang is facing for allowing Occupy Madison to camp on his land. Enjoy the Vang summons and complaint where they say they will fine him $1 to $1,000 a day.
The police harassment should be settled today unless I change my mind, I’ll just take the points since I have all my points on my license at the moment. Tho, the police harassment is very annoying. The other, will take a while longer, its just the beginning.
Who knew standing up (or sitting down) for the homeless would end up with me getting finger printed and getting mug shots taken. And potentially over $500 in fines . . .
On a funnier note . . . my mom is so mad at me. And I quote “I thought I raised you better than that!” . . . yeah, that’s my mom.
