Housing Available!

The waiting lists and closed lists for housing programs are just silly with this approximately 2% vacancy rate – but for a few lucky people with the exact right circumstances there is a glimmer of hope . . . Just about every waiting list is closed or has a waiting list of at least 4 months. Almost 100 people on some agency waiting lists. Wait lists closed for the only time in memory (last 20 years) at other agencies.

HOUSING FOR ONE WOMAN
Seton House has an opening for a single woman.

Eligibility requirements include:
-Must be homeless
-Must have a steady source of income sufficient to pay the monthly program fee of $325
-Must be well enough physically and mentally to live independently

HOUSING FOR DISABLED FAMILIES
A friend sent this one out with the following note: “Hold on to your hats -a public housing waitlist opened!”

The Community Development Authority (CDA) of the City of Madison will be opening the Waiting List for two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments at Karabis Apartments.    Karabis Apartments is part of the CDA’s “Triangle” site of low-income rental housing, which is located along South Park Street in Madison, WI. Rent is based on income.

All apartment units at Karabis Apartments are barrier free and have accessible features (wide hallways, roll-in showers, low sinks, and countertops that provide clearance for wheelchairs.)  Project eligibility at Karabis Apartments is limited to disabled families or persons with disabilities, who have mobility impairments requiring the need for the accessible features of the units.  Income limits also apply.

Effective 7/29/13 we will be opening our two-bedroom and three-bedroom Waiting Lists at Karabis Apartments.

If you know of anyone who is looking for an accessible two-bedroom or an accessiblethree-bedroom apartment, please direct them to the CDA’s Housing Operations Central office for an application.  Interested parties can phone our main number to request an application at 266-4675.

Thank you for your attention to this.

Who will the lucky person be?! It’s almost like winning the lottery these days!
