Breese Stevens Field Opened Up!

If you’re not a soccer fan and haven’t been in Breese Stevens Field (City Park behind cement walls on 900 block of E Washington) here’s your chance to go see Shakespeare there!!! I love this.

Madison Shakespeare Company announces its 2013 production:

Antony and Cleopatra

Performance Dates: Wednesday through Sunday July 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2013, with a 6:30 p.m. start and an 8:30 p.m. end. There will be one fifteen-minute intermission. Tickets are $10 each. All performances will take place outdoors at Breese Stevens Field, built in 1926 in the Mediterranean Revival style.

Food and Drink: Breese Stevens does have public water fountains, but no concessions will be available. Audience members may bring food and drink into the stands, but should avoid bringing rattling bags or other noisy food containers. Trash clean up will be appreciated. Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited.

Food Carts will be present on the west side of Paterson Street from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. before each performance.

Audience Seating – Bring Your Own Chair! ! Audience seating will be located under the covered roof at the west end of the facility. Several cement tiers can accommodate hundreds of portable chairs,
