CONGRESSMAN POCAN ENDORSES EVERETT MITCHELL FOR DANE COUNTY JUDGE
Constitutional rights Champion, former ADA brings wealth of experiences to the seat

Madison – Congressman Mark Pocan has endorsed Everett Mitchell for Judge of the Fourth Circuit Court Branch of Dane County.

Rep. Pocan, who represents Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District said in his endorsement of Mitchell “I enthusiastically support Everett Mitchell for Judge.”

Rep. Pocan continued, highlighting the need for new local leadership, stating that “Everett brings a fresh voice and perspective to the Dane County Court. I admire the hard work, drive and passion he brings to every effort he works on.”

Mitchell was humbled by Congressman Pocan’s support, remarking, “I am honored to receive the support of a consistent, capable leader like Rep. Mark Pocan. His support makes me feel confident that my message, of serving Dane County residents, in the critical role of Judge with fairness and integrity is an engaging vision”.

Mitchell added, “My broad experience in the courtroom, working within the prisons, in education and in the community at large offers me an awareness of the critical issues that we face within Dane County. I am prepared to work towards justice, as defined under the rule of law, and in a way that serves everyone equally.”

Everett Mitchell previously served as a Dane County Assistant District Attorney and Associate Director of Madison-­‐area Urban Ministry. He currently works as the Director of Community Relations for the University of Wisconsin-­‐Madison. He has both authored and successfully implemented strategies to cut recidivism rates for ex-­‐offenders.

Mitchell is a graduate of Morehouse College, Princeton Seminary where he earned a Masters of Divinity and Masters of Theology, and received his Juris Doctor from UW Law School.

Everett Mitchell and his wife, Mankah, live in Sun Prairie, with their two children.

LAW ENFORCEMENT LEADERS ENDORSE EVERETT MITCHELL FOR JUDGE

They join two dozen federal, state and local elected officials pledging support in the first week of campaign

Madison – Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney joined over two dozen law enforcement leaders and local elected officials in endorsing Everett Mitchell in the first week of his campaign for Dane County Circuit Judge. Joining Congressman Pocan and County Executive Parisi, Sheriff Mahoney had strong words of support, offering “Mitchell will bring a wealth of knowledge and community experience to the position of Circuit Court Judge at a time when other criminal justice leaders are embracing reforms to be smarter on crime. His voice will be valuable, that is why I support Everett Mitchell for Dane County Judge.”

Sheriff Mahoney joins a number of Law Enforcement Leaders endorsing in this first week, including:

Mitchell was moved by the overwhelming support of over one hundred endorsements from community leaders and citizens in the first week of the campaign, including those in the legal and law enforcement community. Mitchell added, “My experience working with police officers, within the prisons, and within the courtroom offers me perspective on the critical issues we face together. I’m proud to have the support of those who know we will all work towards justice, as defined under the rule of law, and in a way that serves everyone equally. ”
