DOWNTOWN STREET CLOSURES— MADISON MARATHON 5K, 10K AND HALF MARATHON
Several Madison streets will be closed this weekend for three races held by Madison Festivals.
The Madison Twilight 5K and 10K will start at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28th. The 5K route starts and ends on Capitol Square and uses Johnson Street, Dayton Street and Mifflin Street. The 10K route starts on Capitol Square, goes through the UW Campus area and back to the Capitol Square via Dayton Street. A route map for the 5K and 10K is located here:

The route goes through the UW Campus, down Monroe Street, through the UW Arboretum and back on Monroe Street to Dayton Street and back to the Capitol Square. The course will be fully open to traffic by 11:00 a.m. A route map for the Half Marathon is located here:

Traffic will be allowed to cross the routes only when there are sufficient gaps in the runners. Drivers should plan on using alternate routes to avoid the race courses.
