Well, this is good . . . I think. Yesterday I started getting all these weird emails . . . now I see why . . .
You can now see meetings for next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday without waiting until Friday at noon . . . that’s good.
It’s not going to prevent all the late notices we get . . . but it will help with letting people easily know, without knowing all the tips and tricks, how to get a meeting schedule earlier.
It’s cool cuz it has maps and directions to get to the meetings, including bus and bike.
It’s disturbing as it lists some meetings as not being handicapped accessible, how can that be in this day and age with city meetings?
I tried clicking on the council agenda and it took me to the page where the alders are all listed, so you need to know how to use legistar and click on meetings to get there. And of course, the meeting for next week isn’t actually listed there and the agenda isn’t actually available. I think they can fix where the links are targeted with a little work, but I’m disappointed that the agenda isn’t there (of course I knew it wouldn’t be because they don’t do it til this afternoon so I was curious what would be there.) Also, depending upon how you last used legistar, it might not show the meeting if you have it set to “this month” or “this week”.
If you’re a geek like me, I’d suggest playing around with it. I think I like it. It’s going to add an extra step or two to my blogging, but I figured out the work around thanks to the county, so no worries there.
And have I mentioned . . . it won’t stop getting late notices of meetings less than 48 hours in advance of the meetings . . . sigh . . .
