Going Through Foreclosure?

I am reaching out to you on behalf of Community Justice Inc. We’re a nonprofit, public interest law firm in downtown Madison that operates a variety of legal programs for low and modest income individuals in south-central Wisconsin.

One of these programs is the Foreclosure Defense Project (FDP), which provides free foreclosure defense services to vulnerable homeowners facing a foreclosure action. As an allied social-service provider dedicated to assisting those facing housing insecurity, we wanted to make sure you’re aware of this service that may benefit clients you come in contact with.

The Foreclosure Defense Project may be appropriate for those who are:
-below 300% of the federal poverty line
-facing a foreclosure action
-residing in south-central Wisconsin

Those interested in receiving free legal representation through the project should call Community Justice Inc. at 608-204-9642 to complete an intake. Please make sure they mention the Foreclosure Defense Project during their intake.

If you have any questions about the scope of the work, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Lead FDP Attorney Seep Paliwal (cc’ed) or me. We also have informational rack cards with our intake and project information. If your agency would be interested in getting a stack of these cards, please let me know and I will be sure to send some your way to give to potential clients.

HIV Education Event

You are all invited to join us for an HIV patient education event on September 25, from 6-7:30 PM at Badger Rock Neighborhood Center. The event is free and open to the public and dinner will be provided.

Dr. Andrew Urban, a doctor at the HIV Clinic, will be giving a talk on “Living Well and Aging Well with HIV” that will include 10 tips for living well with HIV at all ages, and how to stay healthy with HIV as you age.  There will also be informational materials on HIV and safer sex supplies.

Badger Rock is located at 501 East Badger Road and is on bus lines 11 & 16.

Free off-street parking is available and the building is accessible for people with physical disabilities.
