Nomination papers to run for county board can officially start being circulated on December 1st (about 3 weeks!) Rumors of multiple incumbents not running are circulating. Will you run for county board?
All 37 seats are up for election in the spring (Feb 18 primary, April 7 general election) Already 5 new people are running for 4 seats. Only one incumbent has filed any paperwork indicating they will run. Two incumbents have indicated they will not be running again and there are several others rumored to not be running. You can check this information yourself on the clerk’s website here. This information was last updated on Tuesday.
Deadline to submit all paperwork (Campaign Registration Statement, Declaration of Candidacy, Nomination papers (50-200 signatures) and Statement of Economic Interest) is January 7, 2020 at 5pm. Once they submit their Campaign Finance Registration Statement and Declaration of Candidacy, they can start raising money if they are new candidates. Nomination papers can begin being circulated December 1st. Incumbents need to submit paperwork by December 27th if they are choosing not to run. If they do not submit on time, that extends the time for candidates to get their nomination papers in. District maps are here.
