CDA PARKSIDE FAMILY WAIT LIST WILL BE OPENING
A rare occasion for families to have a chance at getting a family public housing unit. Mark your calendar and act quick! Lists have been known to close within hours.
On Monday, February 10, 2020 the Community Development Authority (CDA) of the City of Madison will begin accepting applications for the Parkside Townhomes, 2 and 3-bedroom units. The waitlist will remain open until we have received enough applicants to fulfill future vacancies.

CITY CENSUS COMMITTEE UPDATE #6
The City’s Ad Hoc Complete Count Committee will be holding its fifth meeting this evening, Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at 4pm in room 153 of the Madison Municipal Building at 215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The meeting agenda is available on the City’s Legislative Information Center page. WELL 9 – PFAS PUBLIC MEETING

We’ve gotten a lot of concerned calls from customers who live in the Well 9 pdf area related to a recent story in the Isthmus. In 2019, Madison Water Utility tested Well 9 for 30 different PFAS compounds. The 51.55 parts per trillion PFAS concentration that was reported in the story is a total of the 9 types of PFAS that were found present in Well 9. About 80% of that total comes from one compound called PFBA. Currently there is no Federal or Wisconsin guideline for PFBA in drinking water. The only guideline we do have comes from Minnesota’s Department of Health, which has a recommended standard for PFBA of 7,000 parts per trillion. The amount of PFBA in Well 9 is 42 parts per trillion.
All municipal wells currently in operation in Madison meet every PFAS standard set by any state in the U.S., including New Hampshire and Vermont, which have the toughest standards.
We will continue to monitor Well 9 along with the other wells in Madison. If anyone has questions or concerns about PFAS detections in Well 9 or any other Madison well, please attend the meeting if possible. An environmental epidemiologist from Public Health Madison Dane County will be on hand, as will Madison Water Utility’s Water Quality Manager, who oversees all drinking water testing for the city.

OVERTURE GALLERIES CALL FOR ART
Overture Galleries Call for Art Proposals
The Overture Center is now accepting applications for its 2020/21 Gallery Season. Located in Overture Center for the Arts, 201 State Street, the Overture Galleries radiate off the Rotunda lobby on three levels, serving as an entryway to the Capitol Theater.
The Overture Galleries 2020/21 Application deadline is MON, MAR 2, 2020.
Overture aims to exhibit a wide variety of artists, media and visual art of organizations from throughout Dane County. The application is easy and Overture staff is available to answer any questions.

Overture Gallery Staff will hold two informal Q & A meetings to answer questions regarding the gallery application process.

NEIGHBORHOOD GRANT WORKSHOPS

The Department of Planning and Community & Economic Development, Planning Division, has a grant program designed to help neighborhoods build capacity and beautify public places. The grant program helps to improve the quality of life within neighborhoods, and the City as a whole.
