In order to keep the news up to date a little bit better, I have a new format for news. You can look on the homepage under “Konkel Round Up” and I will update that information periodically throughout the day, depending upon what else is going on.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY CALENDARS
You will now see a two calendars on the home page in the right hand column. One calendar is for all the government related meetings I find out about that are not in the week ahead, the other calendar is community meetings that may be of interest. WATER UTILITY ON PFAS AND MADISON’S DRINKING WATER
Do you have questions about PFAS and Madison’s drinking water? Madison Water Utility has been posting PFAS test results online since 2017. You can find the latest results at the link below.
You can also enter your address to see which municipal wells serve your home and access the water quality testing information for those wells. Water is tested regularly for a large number of man-made and naturally-occurring contaminants, including coliform bacteria, radionuclides, solvents & cleaners, pesticides, and heavy metals.

PFAS compounds are not regulated at the federal or state level, although Wisconsin is working toward developing drinking water standards. No water utilities in Wisconsin are currently required to test for any PFAS compounds in drinking water. No food packaging or consumer products are required to label or disclose the presence of PFAS.

Thank you to everyone who attended the community meeting last night at Sennett Middle School to discuss drinking water testing for PFAS at Well 9 on Spaanem Avenue. You can find the full presentation on our website at the link below.

LEGAL ACTION OFFICE AND EVICTION DEFENSE PROJECT CLOSURES
Due to mandatory firmwide staff trainings next week, please note the following changes to Legal Action of Wisconsin’s (LAW) Madison office hours and Eviction Defense Project (EDP) operations:
- LAW’s Madison office at 744 Williamson St., Ste. 200 will be closed Monday, February 3, and Friday, February 7. LAW’s Madison office will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week.
- LAW’s Dane County EDP will be closed next Tuesday (Feb. 4) and Friday (Feb. 7). We will return to regular hours the following week, out of the law library (Room L1007), from 8:30 – 4:30 Tuesday, February 11, and on Friday, February 14 from 9 AM – 1 PM. The EDP closure next week will not impact our services to current clients with proceedings next week.

HOMELESS YOUTH COUNT
I don’t have the attachment, but you can email Sarah Lim for the info.
Do you know any youth age 12-24 experiencing homelessness or at housing instability in Dane County? Then please consider taking 10-15 minutes and completing the attached youth count survey with them. There is still time. The last day of the two-week youth count will be 2/4 (Tue).
