This bill has been introduced several time, but it finally passed. It’s super good news for housing counselors at the Tenant Resource Center, because nothing sucks more than to tell a grieving family member that the lease continues even after someone dies. Now, it will be limited to 60 days. That’s an improvement!

IMMIGRATION TASK FORCE MEETING TONIGHT
I’ll be at the 10th Anniversary of the Social Justice Center at Olbrich and then have a board meeting, but I think this is really important too:
The Dane County Board’s Immigration Task Force is culminating its work at this time and will soon issue a report with recommendations to the county board. The task force is inviting the public to comment on the recommendations before they are finalized. Public comments will be taken at the Task Force’s next meeting which will be held on May 13, 6:30-8:30 in Room 210 of the City County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. Minutes from the last meeting, which include a draft report and recommendations will be available soon at http://www.countyofdane.com/committees/agendas.aspx. where you can choose the May 3 Immigration Task Force meeting.

In Wisconsin 5% of youth, aged 12 – 18 years used prescription painkillers from non-medicinal purposes, and for ages 18 to 25 years, that rate is 12%. Those prescription drugs came from their own home medicine cabinets.
Who should attend? Open to the public – Teens, caregivers of teens and all concerned adults. Hear about the teen brain and risk taking, as well as the impact of drugs on the teen brain; legalities of possession and use; law enforcement, schools and prescription & over-the-counter drugs.
