Adds express service to/from Madison. Not clear if this is an added stop at Kelley’s Market on W. Washington or if they are just moving their stop, again . . . . I can hardly wait to see what their “guest services specialist” will do for these bus riders – but hey, there will be wireless, electrical outlets, extra legroom and reserved seats. Maybe they can manage to have ticket sales?
DALLAS, Nov. 12, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Greyhound today announced it will launch on Dec. 1 a new express service in the Midwest called Greyhound Express(TM). Customers will experience faster trips with direct and one-stop service between Greyhound’s Chicago hub and Milwaukee, Madison, Wis., Minneapolis, Indianapolis and Lafayette, Ind. Fares start at $1 and are now available for purchase at www.mygreyhoundexpress.com. Greyhound Express will feature brand new buses with reserved seating and onboard amenities, including free Wi-Fi access, extra legroom and power outlets.
“Greyhound recognized the demand for a higher level of service between popular Midwest cities at an unbeatable price,” said Dave Leach, president and CEO, Greyhound. “Just in time for the holiday season, Greyhound Express customers will experience time- and cost-savings, a reserved comfortable seat and premium amenities, all while gaining convenient easy access to downtown centers and local attractions.”
Customers can buy their ticket online to take advantage of discount pricing, print their ticket at home and then go straight to the gate knowing a guaranteed seat is waiting for them. A private waiting area near the dedicated departure gates is provided at terminal locations, and a guest services specialist will present an extra level of service for Greyhound Express customers.

I wonder how long this will last before there are more changes? And if they’re moving the bus stop, when will they let us know?
$1 fares?????
I was wondering the same thing. Probably a special or 2 for one deal or something. Dunno.
How far can you get with one dollar?
Let’s see … power outlets, WiFi, a stop at Kelley’s … sounds like they’re trying to compete with Badger Bus for the college students.
here’s the follo on Brenda’s Greyhound tip. The express service and the regular service will be kept separate, Greyhound says, though the “express” service Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from Madison to Minneapolis will feature a dizzying trip to Milwaukee first, then a turnaround to Minneapolis:

Considering the amount of times I’ve paid $60 for these trips, I don’t feel bad about paying a couple dollars for the neext few.
