Bitterly Cold Round Up

Brrrrrrr . . . .

NO ONE WANTS TO RUN FOR SCHOOL BOARD
I was in a meeting about a month ago where someone suggested I run for school board, I laughed. A former school board member in the room laughed even harder. It seems to be one of the least wanted jobs in town . . . which is understandable. It’s thankless and difficult.

GOLDEN OUT OF THE RACE
And the Mayor is disappointed? “Mayor Dave Cieslewicz said he was disappointed that Golden was no longer able to run because Cieslewicz was looking forward to a spirited campaign to discuss Madison’s issues.” Anyone believe that? Here’s the WSJ version.

OVERTURE UPDATES
From yesterday. No one is talking.
From Saturday. Bein’ cordial.
From Friday. It costs too much.
Subsidizing “Leisure of the Elite”?

WALKER NEEDS TO GET SERIOUS ON JOB
Duh. State Journal doesn’t quite use the “privatize” word . . . they just say “more independent, nimble and streamlined”. I wonder if even they think he is going too far? Clearly, they thought that on the train . . . nice cartoon.

LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION LOGISTICS
Still unknown where the downtown library will move to and how big it will be and what will be available during construction.

BADGER ROCK CHARTER SCHOOL STUMBLED
They’ll be trying again . . . re-examining the budget.

SUPPORT COMMUNITY SHARES!
Yes, please do! Tenant Resource Center may be the oldest member of the group . . . and it has done so much over the years.

ATTACK ON THE ENVIRONMENT
Yeah, that’s not the only thing to worry about . . . it’s an attack on anything left of right-wing nut job. Hopefully he’ll burn himself out by having too big of an agenda.

TAKING SHOTS AT THE BADGER HERALD</b>
