Bad/Bury the News Friday

Economic Development Director Tim Cooley resigns at the end of the month. Just barely two weeks notice. New (Temporary) Economic Development Director anointed. Is there more to this story? I’m guessing so. Dave sure does love to hire the Doyle castaways.

Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to share the news with you that our Economic Development Director Tim Cooley has decided to return to the private sector. He’ll be with us until January 31. I want to thank Tim for the work that he’s done in his time here at the city, particularly in working to position the city as a partner in economic development in the community and the region. His work and the creation of the Economic Development Director position have been important steps in continually improving our economic development efforts. I hope you’ll join me in wishing Tim all the best.

We will start our search for a new Economic Development Director immediately. Because this position and our city’s economic development efforts are so important, I will be provisionally appointing Aaron Olver as the interim director until we complete our selection process. Aaron most recently served as the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and has an impressive background in economic development. I am confident Aaron will keep our economic development efforts on track as interim director. He will start on February 7.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Dave
Mayor Dave Cieslewicz
