Dennis DeNure: Three Changes

Can you guess what he says? Actually, there might be something new here . . .

If you’re elected Mayor, name three things that will be different about Madison this time, next year as a result.

Dear Brenda and Forward Lookout,
I am not a serious candidate for Mayor, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to promote the branding plan by answering your questions as they develop. Here are three “instead” ideas that the next mayor will have fun working on in conjunction with the community: (Perhaps the Forward Lookout voice can force the next mayor to pay attention to the museum plan, I can’t do it alone?)

1. Instead of a public market building, an expanded and improved Dane County Farmers Market, that uses the streets for point of purchase sales, is discussed and agreed upon. The community steps forward with creative ideas and work’s to blossom the current DCFM.

2. Instead of a small modest skatepark on the table at the Central Park brand, a first class enterprise like a California skatepark, with all the bells and whistles, is discussed and agreed upon. The community steps forward with creative ideas and work’s to manifest an attraction that attracts skaters from all over.

3. Instead of a saved structure at the old Library, the Fiore design is made manifest as a library and the T. Wall design is brought back, and is discussed and agreed upon, that this design would make a great Madison Historical Museum. The community REALLY steps forward with creative ideas and energy to make this fun idea happen in now time.

People start feeling good again about the destiny path Madison is on, but I can see I’m becoming philosophical. Anyway, Forward Lookout should know that more “Instead” ideas exist at the web site: MuseumMile.WordPress.com.

Thank you listening.

Sincerely,

Dennis Amadeus de Nure

  1. I like the skatepark item. That is exactly what the Skatepark Fund is planning, a regional destination park which will be plaza style, meaning concrete construction of multiple elements. No modular ramps here, we are talking about a premier destination public skatepark!
