That’s right, WYOU LIVES! And still going strong, a year and a half after we were supposed to die . . . but we didn’t! Come Celebrate my birthday, and Barbara Vedder’s retirement and birthday with Mark Pocan and others!
Come and celebrate the birthdays of Barbara Vedder and Brenda Konkel who are putting together a fundraiser for WYOU, our local community television station. We’re calling this event “Out of Office and into the Spotlight of Television.” It promises to be a spark for keeping community television alive.
WYOU is one of the amazing resources that our community has. It’s a place where individuals or groups can produce their own programs and be able to bring their voices to the airwaves. It’s also a place where people can learn to film, edit and produce their own video. Come and help keep the community’s voices heard.
In the past 1 ½ years the WYOU Board of Directors with a handful of volunteers have kept WYOU’s doors open and mission alive. We have not only restarted live shows but also nurtured the development of the Wisconsin Uprising Archive. We need your help now more than ever to be able to continue running the station.
Date: Saturday, July 21, 4-7pm
Location: Barbara’s backyard, 2314 East Dayton Street
Short program begins at 5pm. State Representative Mark Pocan will be speaking.
