Tomorrow is the Big Day: The Big Share! An opportunity for us to demonstrate support of nonprofits building a fair, just community and protecting our environment. The Big Share includes lots of great Community Shares of Wisconsin Organizations, including the Tenant Resource Center.
You can make a general donation to CSW and its member groups, or support a specific organization like Tenant Resource Center by going to their Big Share webpage. These pages have more information about the work of each organization, along with suggested donation amounts that let you know the impact of your support.
What is The Big Share?
The Big Share is a 24-hour fundraising event created to rally community support for local charitable causes. This unique one-day fundraiser is being organized by Community Shares of Wisconsin and will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd, from 12:01 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
What is the goal of The Big Share?
- Raise funds and awareness for nonprofits working to build a fair, just community and protecting our environment.
- To provide a platform for local non-profit organizations to tell their stories and educate our communities about the positive impact they have in our lives.
- Democratize philanthropy by focusing on multiple micro-gifts from a large network of supporters.
- Engage new donors, including young, digitally-savvy community members, to make donations and get involved.
- Develop new social media and digital capacity and a permanent infrastructure among Community Shares member nonprofits.
- Harness the power of the expansive social media networks of 67 nonprofits in a coordinated fundraising event.

- Help us celebrate –join us at one of our Big events on March 3.
* Are you an early riser? Our friends at Java Cat are kicking off The Big Share by giving away free coffee drinks 6:00-7:00 a.m. Join our staff, Madison Community Foundation staff, and representatives from Just Coffee. WKOW TV will be there to interview attendees, as well!
* Stop in at Willy Street Co-op locations 8:00-10:00 a.m. for coffee tastings. Or see us at Capitol Centre Market 4:00-5:30 p.m. Just Coffee is sponsoring all of these tastings.
* A Big Share celebration, presented by Plan B at 5:00 pm. No admission fee, but a donation to The Big Share will be gladly accepted at the door. Co-sponsored by the Dane County Credit Union, we’ll have free beer and snacks while they last. And we’ll give away some great prizes including a bike from Pacific Cycle, an annual membership to B-Cycle, a one-night stay at The Madison Concourse, pizza from Ian’s Pizza, ice cream from Chocolate Shoppe, and more!
