Wow, Chief Wray sure listens to Thuy. Is it a reward for helping get 30 new officers, a pay back? I’m not quite sure how else to explain it. I never got this type of immediate action right from the top, I was usually told we had to set up a meeting and talk about it, then they tried to intimidate me. I don’t even think Bridget Maniaici, with all her political support from the police and sheriff (remember the billboards) could get this kind of response. I mean, if I sent an email to her about the leaf blower man, or barking dog next door, or early morning dumpster pick up, and she forwarded it to Wray, it wouldn’t get this type of response. What’s Chief Wray doing for my neighborhood, and the small grocery across the street that keeps getting robbed? What about our quality of life? They don’t respond to hardly any noise issues downtown, why is Thuy’s neighborhood special? Or is it just that boom car noise is special? Or, did Chief Wray just promise to “consider” their neighborhood and Thuy is now expecting more than she should?

Subject: Boom CarsHello –
I don’t know if you saw the article on Boom Cars in today’s Cap Times (http://host.madison.com/ct/news/local/crime_and_courts/article_9c2890ee-6a43-11df-abfd-001cc4c002e0.html?mode=story), but the jist is that citations and the market seems to be dropping.
I wanted to make sure that everyone knows that this is still a big quality of life problem where I live on Hammersley Road on the Southwest Side. These cars go by at all hours of the morning and night and you can hear them, no feel them, from a lot farther than 75 feet away that’s for sure. As a father of two young children, I can tell you that this definitely is a nuisance.
The next time MPD stake out a “boom car initiative,” please consider my neighborhood. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Christopher Morris
