This is the real hearing, the one that matters, since the Transit and Parking Commission (TPC) is the one that makes these decisions unless it is appealed to the council. This is the Metro propaganda, but its also the info you should be commenting on. I know the council asked for information about what happens when you raise fares two times so closely together, I haven’t seen that information. Here is the information that the TPC has for tonight. I don’t know if they will hand out more info tonight, but expect a lot of questions about elasticity and ridership and the impacts of raising the fare again. I’m triple booked tonight and expect that the main stream media will be here, so I will be at the county board Personnel and Finance or Health and Human Needs meetings. I hope people show up tonight to talk about why raising the fares is bad for the poorest riders and push for a truly low-income bus pass program. People can’t afford it now, even if they get there in the first week of the month.
