County board actually doesn't meet again to do business until May.  1 meeting this week that has one item on the agenda.

907 homeless kids in our schools. 16 sleeping in their cars.

Compromise reached (?) on mental health and substance abuse funding so no veto override, lawsuit (?) over Cardinal-Hickory line and routine items.

I took the day off and spent it with Occupy folks, and here's all the updates. Short story: County said they had to be out by noon. They didn't budge. Nothing happened. Homeless Services Consortium groups admit no one has rooms available for people who are homeless. Services simply don't exist.

The recent dust up at LaFollette West, with a LaFollete student got Blaska blathering again . . . or did he, himself, say "whining" . . . .

After working closely with and getting to know my new friends, this service is greatly needed for a few of them!

Who knows what amendments might come up tonight or at the county board, you need to be psychic in order to testify on the county budget apparently. They will tell you after you testify, if they let you, what they will be voting on, maybe.

At 10:30 today there was a press conference where Rep. Chris Taylor and community leaders spoke about the final Envionrmental Impact Statement on the F-35s and what is said, or didn't say!
