The Common Council will meet on Tuesday and the County Board will meet on Thursday.  They both have plans to pass ordinances allowing them to meet by phone.

No meetings on leap day!  That's what I expected to see.  7 meetings the rest of the week.

Elections (old news), homeless services and alder updates.  Bus survey, demolition, Adams Outdoor advertising and more.

But not the most money.

Let's take a look at what magically appeared in what must have been discussions held behind closed doors between last Wednesday and tomorrow night when the Personnel and Finance Committee meets and likely unanimously approves this package with little public discussion.

When April 30th comes, almost 100 homeless people will have no where to go. Last night the council tripped all over themselves trying to convince themselves that they really cared about homelessness and affordable housing, but came up with excuse after excuse, helped by city staff, about why they had to vote to evict homeless people from their limited shelter and a place they spend with their new family that they call home.

I don't ever really talk about these things, but I really do know how badly poverty sucks, and I was kind of lucky because it was rural poor, not city poor.
