Apparently, its against the rules, but the police can't do anything about it without an ordinance. They didn't really talk much about that tho, didn't even question it, it was more about who was stepping on who's toes . . . and the homeless.

Madison Prep wants another vote in February. Smells like an elections stunt to me. I really wish instead of cramming their ideas...

We've dumped gallons of salt brine on streets and it hasn't been needed til today. Watch out for a snow emergency to be called and make sure you park on the correct side of the street!

Bad blogging week for me, internet and webhosting issues - so here's the round up that has a little older news included.

I've been looking into the county's efforts around poverty. I was going to give them a report card on the Task Force on Poverty Report, but of course, its near impossible to do on-line research on this so it is taking quite some time . . . but here's what I've found that I can share so far.

So many of the recent meetings about the Downtown Plan are during the day and I haven't been able to make the meetings - so last night I checked in to the Economic Development Committee and got a really bizarre vision for the downtown. You gotta check this out.

The city is buying some technology upgrades for Madison Metro. We can come up with cool things it should do all day long, but if we don't think about how to write the RFP, it won't matter. What can we learn from other cities?

I had technical difficulties yesterday as I was out of town and had internet connections issues . . . so sorry its late. However, I did do it in its entirety since it Monday was already done.

I hate it when committees do this - and you can't blame the media for not covering something when they don't know it is going to happen. But when the mayor shows up - it probably should be on the agenda.
