1st Meeting of the New Council

Ok, I skipped the first 3 hours and 10 minutes of the thanking the outgoing alders and mayor - which was the final meeting of the outgoing council. This is only the first meeting of the new council where they elect the new president and vice president. You can watch here starting at about 3:10. The meeting lasts about 35 minutes.

Homeless? Doors Closing Everywhere

While the holidays bring out extra generosity from the community in the form of gifts for kids and other items - it also poses some real practical problems, like agencies and businesses and other programs being closed. Today is the day when it seems that many of the programs are announcing when they are closed . . . a bad time of the year to be homeless.
