Here we go again . . . I'm spending more time on the County side of things (Human Service Budget Hearings tonight and tomorrow night - Alliant Energy Center 6:00), at the Tenants Rights' Rally tomorrow night (5:00 State St steps) and the Poverty Coalition meeting on Thursday (6:00 Edgewood College).

Still from last week Monday, but almost done . . . I hope.

The Zoning Code Rewrite was referred after a public hearing, but they will vote on the 29th which is amazing how quickly this is now moving. I'm sure unintended consequences will be felt for years. They spent about an hour and 10 minutes listening to testimony from what mostly looked like lobbyists. Here's the rest of what they discussed last night.

Here's the items that the Mayor and Council President deemed important enough to allow the committees to meet or bodies that have enough independence they can't stop them from meeting.

3 cancelled meetings, 4 missing agendas, 6 or 7? meetings on policing matters, development rolls on (Plan meets twice, UDC & Jt. Campus meets) and more!

Maybe the "business community" doesn't always know what is best. And maybe this should give us pause to review "deals" more carefully before jumping on board. And maybe look a little harder into unrealistic promises.

Ok, questions of staff and then to the now 19 amendments.

Still catching up on my long list of blogging topics . . . so here some more things you should know that I didn't get to yesterday! More for the "good news" portion of the blog!

Mine are, finish the bike boulevard on E Mifflin and fix the bike issue with the one way traffic on the Ist block of E Mifflin off the square. What are yours?

Can't deny it any longer, winter is here. But looks like it won't last long. No need to move your cars.
