After a full year of the City of Madison blocking electronic petitions, the signatures should start going through today! Yay! Unfortunately, how we got here was a little ugly

Now, more than ever, we need to get creative. But, we can't do that at the expense of the most needy in our community. This is no longer just for budget geeks, this impacts everyone!

I started asking the staff who can't get their agendas to the clerk's office by noon on Friday . . . why?

Alder, elections and Homeless Services Consortium Round Ups, Metro Driver with COVID-19, police stations close, democratic process shut down concerns, housing and homeless updates and much more. 

5 meetings.  Or?  More?  Funding for affordable housing (Judge Doyle Square & Salvation Army), negotiating team for Truman Olson, Judge Doyle Square agreement and more.

Here's a clue, its the exclusion list. Everything will be approved or decided upon as on the agenda without discussion unless it is...

Wow, this is an odd new strategy. 6 inches of snow last night, no snow emergency. 6 - 8 inches of snow tonight and no snow emergency. I think we need to define what a snow emergency now means so people can know what to expect.

Prior to the council meeting last night the council had a discussion where it appears they preliminarily agreed to give $150,000 to Overture, fund Madison Metro fuel, fund police and some discussion about police overtime, concerns about a social worker for the municipal court, a cost of living increase for non-profits and maybe more funding for the Emerging Opportunities program.
