Beyond the headlines.  New opioid grant and Addiction Resource Police Officer position, Urban Forestry Special Charge (Tree Tax), continued leaf pick up until the weather prevents them from collecting leaves, year end budget adjustments ($2M to Fire, $1M to Police), Judge Doyle Square agreement (land use application in Jan and should sail through the neighborhood, garage opens 2/1, construction starts 6/1) and Truman Olson developer chosen.  About a half a dozen paid lobbyists showed up along with union workers and people seeking affordable housing and other community priorities in the Truman Olson development.

I believe Madison has enjoyed a Aaa Bond rating as long as I've been paying attention - 25+ years.  Here's the latest for city, sewer, water and CDA.

While the City is choosing to negotiate with Rule Enterprises, there are some pretty big conditions on final approval as well as choosing Gorman Companies as the back up plan.

Every year there are "year end adjustments" to the City budget.  And they spend the last of the "contingent reserve" which is usually a little over $1M that they set aside for unbudgeted emergencies.  Lets see who went over budget this year and why . . . (psst, police ($1M) and fire ($2M) get more money as per usual)

With state imposed levy limits local governments are forced to find new ways to raise taxes. This year's debate was about the Wheel Tax, but look what's been happening with the Tree Tax.

Ugh, I'm hopelessly behind with my latest computer woes (my home computer won't be back until Saturday) making everything twice as difficult at the moment . . . but here's the consent agenda for tonight!  For the meeting that started already.
