Willy St. Coop IS Looking at E. Washington Location

Just looking. But they are in the very early stages of considering it.

Wake Up Call: Gaps in the Homeless Services “System”

So, as homelessness is getting more attention, you hear the mayor say the city is spending $3M on services and the county handing out lists of the services available and non-profits are telling us that services are "readily available" but lets take a look at what is really going on.

MLK Day at Grace Episocal Church

Thanks to Grace Episcopal Church for opening their doors, Karen Andro from First United Methodist Church for coordinating volunteers and Bethel Lutheran Church for helping staff the day. Z! (and board members) from Shine was there most of the day as well.

Added and Cancelled Meetings (Updated)

The City sends out notices when they cancel meetings - I don't know how to get notified when the county and school board do, but here's what I can figure out at the moment. City cancelled 4 meetings, added three.

Too Angry to Blog this Morning.

All that comes out of the other end of my keyboard is venom. I can't stomach watching what the county board did last night and what the council will do the next two nights. All kinds of interesting things on the agenda, but I guess they think there is not much worth talking about . . . here's the two items council members have separated for discussion - kinda.

Even More “City Week Ahead” Meetings

I don't know what the point of a "weekly meeting schedule" is if half the meetings are missing.

Joe Parisi Can’t Be Serious!

I haven't seen anything so petty and disgusting and hearless since the days of Dave Cieslewicz

No Worries, There’s Plenty of Children’s Programming for the Summer!

Says the police department. ?! Chalk this up as one of the odder things I've seen.

Snow Emergency Not Extended

I'm so confused about when to expect there will be a snow emergency. I thought the rule was that if there was more than 3 inches of snow and it had stopped snowing, there would be a snow emergency that night and the following night and that the snow emergency would be called by 6pm. But apparently, this year, we're just making it up as we go along . . . which is going to lead to confusion and more tickets for my neighbors.
