Government Re-structure Recommendations Discussion

Tonight the Task Force on Government Structure is finally going to be making some recommendations - maybe. They are at least intending to try. The two committees that looked at Boards Committees and Commissions and the Common Council have finished their reports and the full committee will be reviewing them tonight at 6pm.

City Creates Website for Updates on Tree Lane

Don't get too excited, it doesn't have a lot of information yet. Here's what I know.

What are city lobbyists up to these days?

Quite frankly, it's quite hard to tell. It's quite the mess and there is more information missing than available. There is very little information about who paid whom and how much to lobby for which matters.

Soglin’s “Off Season” Campaign Contributions

Because of the Ethics Complaint saying that commercial real estate owners met with the mayor and they were campaign contributors, I started digging into Soglin's campaign contributions on the off season and I found some curious things.

Implication of Complaint Go Beyond Ethics

The Ethics Committee meeting to consider an Ethics Compaint against Mayor Soglin was cancelled yesterday. Honestly, I'm expecting the ethics complaint by a former assistant city assessor to get thrown. That is because they don't have "jurisdiction". i.e. it's filed in the wrong place. And when they do that, they don't get to the merits of the complaint. Based on a technicality, they don't look at the underlying problem. If this complaint is true tho, consider the implications!

Homeless Funding in Evers Budget

I went through the plan to see what Governor Evers saying he'd fully fund the recommendation of the Interagency Council on Homelessness really means. Here's what I found. This is no longer a report, its an actual action plan!
