City Week Ahead

Only 11 meetings, but I know there are some missing - like the Task Force on City Government Subcommittee (oh, the irony) that meets on Friday at 2. There are also three other meetings in legistar with no agenda. So at least 25% of the meetings aren't yet noticed. Council meeting this week and I guess we'll see what else - look for Mo' Meetings!

What Moron Made this Decision?

Downtown parking is going to be messed up for weeks now . . . a simple "request" to have people move their cars isn't going to work. This is absurd.

Yikes! Check out Who’s Buying the Mayor’s Race!

It ain't Madison! With record numbers of money raised for the mayor's race, I was curious where the money was coming from . . . there's a ton of money coming in from outside of Madison and outside of the state!

Catching Up with the Task Force on Government Structure

I video recorded the last meetings of the Task Force on Government Structure and their two subcommittees on Boards Committees and Commission and the subcommittee on the Common Council. Both subcommittees reported back to the main committee and have written reports on their identification of which issues they think should be looked at and what alternatives they might have. So I've included those reports as well. The subcommittees meet again today and tomorrow to continue their work.
Round Up

Round Up and Mo’ Meetings

Here's a smattering of random announcements and the changes to the weekly schedule since yesterday - 5 extra meetings that weren't listed Monday morning.

Finance Committee Recap

They had a huge agenda, 38 items, but the meeting was only an hour and a half. And 12 minutes of that was waiting for it to get started. They discussed 6 of the 38 agenda items - personnel changes, the merger of the Treasurer's Office and Finance, leasing equipment from the Navy for the police department, the Public Market, EOP funding and Tree Lane.

City Week Ahead

Sorry I'm late this morning - I had 20+ hours of candidate interviews over the weekend! Gotta say . . . I'm kinda impressed . . . looking forward to this new council (and hopefully new mayor). This week doesn't have any showstoppers - but lots and lots of meetings, you'll have to take a look.

Another Alder Down!

3rd District might have a new alder between 2-6-19 and when the new council gets sworn in the 3rd Tuesday in April. I have a new question for all candidates I consider endorsing - will you serve you whole term? Imagine what would happen if the council moves to 4 year terms for alders!!!

Round Up and Mo’ Meetings

I've combined the two for now . . . they will likely become their own features in the future . . . for those of you who might not remember "Round Up" is a smattering of community announcements that I think will be of interest to Forwardlookout.com readers

Common Council Recap

It's supposed to be a short meeting, but it's still 2 hours and 15 minutes. The main event is Judge Doyle Square, with little else on the agenda.

What will the Council Talk About Tonight?

This is what was sent out - sometimes it changes between the first time it gets sent out and the meeting, and it can change at the meeting as well . . . Amanda Hall is notified as being absent tonight.

Don’t Change my Government Structure, Change the Small Things First!

Here's 10 things city hall could change that I witnessed in less than 2 hours!  Good grief. I was interested in going to three different meetings yesterday. Government officials and committee members are wondering how to get more people to participate in local government - based on my experiences yesterday, I can name a few.
