What the Council will talk about Tonight!

This is the consent agenda for tonight.

County Executive Budget “favorable” to Human Services

Of course, funding for TRC was restored, so I am happy, but there is other good news as well . . . but the county board will be left to struggle with how to pay the operating costs for the Day Resource Center (that doesn't yet exist).

Mayor’s Budget Message

Press Conference at 4:00, here's his message to the council.

Q&A on the Federal Government Shut Down

By the Public Interest Law Section of the Wisconsin Bar . . . helpful and cute.

A Homeless Person Sums It Up

This email came to me this morning and I thought it was a good summary of where we are at. Not my words, but someone experiencing it. Tiny Victory for Tiny Houses! (Now with Audio)

Alders Marsha Rummel, Ledell Zellers, Larry Palm, Lisa Subeck and Mike Verveer have proposed an ordinance that would allow tiny homes to be parked somewhere besides the streets. Must have been some deal made behind the scenes. Here's what I know about the almost mayoral veto.

County Budget Process

The county has a much more extensive process for the public to participate in, but in many ways, it is much harder as you don't have copies of the amendments they are considering and you can't plan for their schedule if you are interested in something.

6 changes to the City Week Ahead This Morning

I think they should change the name of the "Weekly Schedule" to the "Kinda, Maybe, Not Really Weekly Schedule".

County Week Ahead

Here it is, in all its glory . . . hope you can interpret the alphabet soup without attachments.

HUD Wants Us To . . . Part I: Prioritize Chronically Homeless for...

HUD wants has some lofty goals of ending homelessness, some communities are taking this task very seriously. HUD is issuing statements about guidance of what they expect to see. In permanent supportive housing, HUD wants us to prioritize chronically homeless persons. Will we?
