Oh . . . shit . . .

The majority of this is the council meeting on Tuesday night, lots of stuff going on. 20 other meetings, only 7 start after 5:00. It seems to be getting worse. On Wednesday there are meetings at 8:30, 10, 11, 12, 4 and 4:30.

If you look at the county board budget page, it doesn't appear there is a meeting on Monday 10/30 . . . but there is! And there is a whopper amendment - well, 2 - adding $36M plus interest over 20 years to the $108,000 we're already being asked to pay for!

Madison, WI is usually ranked as one of the top cities to live in the country.   Why not, right?  Two lakes, the State Capitol,...

I'm used to haters, my email is full of examples of it (mostly from when I was an elected official), but it irks the hell out of me when it gets directed towards other people and it professes such ignorance. Check out the latest flyer circulating in the East High area against the homeless who are looking for a place to live. Saturday's meeting could be interesting.

It's unclear if these meetings are still going on in this weather . . . I'm guessing several get cancelled.

On Wednesday, September 25th 2013 the City hosted a “Yahara River Corridor Public Meeting”. It wasn’t a very helpful agenda, so I pulled together some background information for myself. Here’s some of that info, and a bit of the flavor of the meeting.

While the holidays bring out extra generosity from the community in the form of gifts for kids and other items - it also poses some real practical problems, like agencies and businesses and other programs being closed. Today is the day when it seems that many of the programs are announcing when they are closed . . . a bad time of the year to be homeless.
