More Money to Militarize Local Law Enforcement
Tonight the County Public Protection and Judiciary will be approving $47,000 from Federal Homeland Security and Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs for what? "Advanced Tactical Integration Training", whatever that is.
JFC Co-Chairs Plan to Drop a Highway Bomb on Future Generations
...we can’t expect one generation to pick up the load for all these projects at the same time... Unfortunately, these projects are all coming to fruition at the same time... it’s up to us to figure out what are we going to do to continue...
Madison Workers Strike for $15/hr Wages
Computer glitch . . . this is from last Wednesday. But, I got a new (faster) router!
City to fund CareNet?
Last time there was funding involved, they couldn't even find a sponsor, this time, the Board of Estimates and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) has recommended funding. Question is, do they even know that is what they approved?
What is this committee voting on tonight?
This is the City-County Liaison Committee, so it has alders, county board supervisors and the county executive's and mayor's office representatives on it, so you'd think they could get this right. This committee makes final decisions and there are no other votes on these matters, so whatever they decide is final. Sure would be nice to know what they are voting on. All three items are a bit of a mystery to me and they meet tonight.

Less Access to Government!

Chief Koval: Take Another Look
No violence, eh? Seriously? Funny how a cop looks at video and thinks there is no violence but the people being arrested feel like (and sometimes scream out in pain) there is plenty of violence. It would be one thing if people were actually doing something worth getting arrested for, but as far as I can tell, the arrest that started this was for nothing. The police started this and it could all have been avoided.
