County Meanies Evicting Occupy from Lake Farm Park Noon Today

We've paid for three sites through tomorrow, but the county has given the campers a notice that they have to be out by noon today - they gave them the notice last night after 5:00. I have no idea what the campers will decide to do, we don't have transportation arranged for them with this short of notice and well, the county is just being mean.

Did you know this is a $10M Decision?

Tonight the Board of Estimates will be voting on this "Amending the 2015 adopted Capital Improvement Plan to provide matching funds for the City’s 2015 TIGER grant application and authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to enter into a contract with USDOT to receive and expend the TIGER funds if awarded." Do you have any clue what this is about and what the extra $10M in would be spent on?

Homeless Outreach is “Soliciting” in the Public Library?

Or perhaps "profiling"? The outreach worker (a high school teacher) was kicked out of the library. Has there been a change in policy? Homeless Services Consortium (paid) agencies reserve rooms in the library during business hours and don't offer a fraction of what (volunteer) Friends of the State St. Family offer for people living on the streets. I'll let Tami Miller explain . . .
