Action Alert from the Wisconsin Council of Churches. This drives me nuts, this is the one benefit that people down on their luck can apply for and get and get quickly. Unlike medical care, disability, housing assistance, child care assistance, etc.

Apparently, I spent 5.5 hours last night with someone who did. For months I have been trying to get the person help . . . but nothing has worked.

I'll give them credit, it's a tough topic, much harder than approving a development or a new siren system. And there's no easy fixes, but there are things you can do to at least not make things worse, and get good information to make good decisions.

Must have been some deal made behind the scenes. Here's what I know about the almost mayoral veto.

Tuesday night the Wisconsin Senate passed SB 179, the third piece of legislation in two years to drastically alter tenant landlord law. This law removes over 20 Madison ordinances and changes over 20 statewide laws, resulting in over 75 law changes since 2011 Wisconsin Act 108. Here is a summary of some of the areas of the law that will be impacted:

Will we have a day center by November 1? December 1? Odds are, no.
