Fixing the Weekly Schedules

Here's additions to the City Schedule and updates to the county schedule. Sigh, I feel like its unfair to call these the City or County Week Ahead, cuz we know the posts won't ever be accurate - what does that say to the public that tries to participate - or is it designed so they don't?!

County Week Ahead

Whoa.  Several serious flaws in these "agendas" or lack thereof. Monday Public Works Sustainability Subcommittee 11:00 AM City-County Building 210 Martin Luther King Junior Blvd.,...

(No Link) City Week Ahead

Wow, very little information on upcoming agenda items. Fist 10 items, no links, I've never seen it this bad - taking a lead from the county?

County Board Strategy: Bury Head in Sand

Will we have a day center by November 1? December 1? Odds are, no.

No Info, No Problem. (Note Added)

Liberals on the county board are a funny bunch, and lately, they rarely, as a group, fail to disappoint for their complete lack of understanding of the issues and for the petty reasons they use to vote for or against something, and usually it has something to do more with internal power structure than the issue at hand.

TONIGHT! Winter 4, No Plan? No Permanent Comprehensive Day Center?

Can you imagine, we're going into winter number 4 with no comprehensive day center, no plans of what to do for the winter, and our heads stuck in the sand. Let's see if we can change that TONIGHT!

Exhibit A: NOT Equity

Part of the reports on equity talk about making government more accessible, including people of color and those affected in decision making and asking questions about what unintended consequences might be from the decision making, THIS is not it. This is not equity in action. This is exhibit A of what not to do.

What will the council talk about tonight? One Item? (UPDATED: 2?)

Well, this is what the piece of paper says . . . allegedly aldeers make it known if they want to talk about an issue and then any issue that the public speaks to is also fair game.

Town of Madison: Decisions yet to be made on Day Center

There are three separate things going on at this point: 1) The Town of Madison is appealing the zoning decision that C-1 zoning is appropriate for the day center, and perhaps that is was zoned R-4. The hearing at the Board of Adjustment isn't until August 28th. (can't confirm, but that is what I was told by Town of Madison staff) 2) 14 conditions of approval for the building permit still need to be met, including parking etc 3) Among the conditions, the Town of Madison and Dane County have to sign an agreement about what services Dane County will be paying for - public works mostly, police and fire too?

Town of Madison: 2 Votes on Day Center Tonight (CORRECTED)

Looks like the Town of Madison Board has two votes on their agendatonight for the proposed (allegedly done deal?) Day Center at 1490 Martin St. Number 100 gets to freeze outside and the county will be charged when the ambulance is called to haul them to the morgue.

County Week Ahead

If you work til 5:00, you might make it on time for 4 county meetings this week . . . depending upon the traffic. Makes you wonder, who serves on these committees?

(Very few links) City Week Ahead

Here's about 75 - 80% of the meetings that will take place this week, stay tuned for multiple changes.
