Love Letters to the County Board
Tonight, it appears the "liberals" on the county board are prepared to go forward and buy a building for a day center for people without homes that has inadequate water and sewer, questionable police services, no realistic and meaningful transportation plan and no current budget that details exactly what this will all cost after remodeling, connecting to City of Madison sewer and water, retrofitting a sprinkler system and doing additional remodeling for expansion. Day Center Unanswered Questions
The county board may be voting on the day center tomorrow, ask your county board supervisor not to vote on it until they can answer these questions . . . and probably more!
Shameful.
I just toured the Porchlight Hospitality House that the county wants to buy and listened to some answers to some questions, and I'm completely disgusted! Not with Porchlight, but with what we find to be acceptable in our community when it comes to meeting the needs of homeless persons.

I think the biggest question they have that needs an answer is about the well - if people are going to be doing laundry and taking showers and using restrooms at an increased volume, how will that affect the well? They will be meeting tonight at 5:30 (burr Oaks) and 7:00 (Arboretum) to get answers. Well, to ask questions, not sure they will get answers.
