Police Report on Mifflin St: End. It. Now.

Here's the findings and recommendations from their report. I'd like to see a longer comparison besides 2008 to 2011, I'm sure they have the data, the very limited comparison seems strange and seems to leave out a big piece of the picture.

Detox Dispute: Chief Wray vs. County Executive

Chief Noble Wray asleep at the wheel last fall when the county board was debating their budget . . .

And the Best Actor Award Goes To . . .

A little before 2am on Wednesday morning, there was a very interesting exchange between the mayor and a couple members of the council. It's amazing how catty they can get when they think no one is paying attention. Mark Clear was particularly unnecessarily snarky and unprofessional and the best actor . . . was just bizarre. I loved Mike Verveer's reaction.

What’s on the Council Agenda Tonight?

Not much?

Round Up!

What's been happening lately in the news, and other things you should know.

Want A Library?

Partner with a private developer, have only one entrance and stand alone building is preferred.

TIF . . . Change our Policies or Not?

The Economic Development Commission recommended a bunch of changes last spring, the council created an ad hoc committee which has been meeting since July to review the recommendations and it seems they are contemplating some changes, but maybe not all those recommended by the Economic Development Commission . . . lets catch up with that conversation. Is the candy store wide open with no one there to guard it? Or are the EDC recommendations falling a little flat.

Mayor to Council: Midtown and Fire Station Adds $2M in Operating Costs

So who's going to suffer? Check out the bolded statement below. I think we should go to referendum for these projects to increase the levy, instead of continuing to cut elsewhere - there's no fat left to cut. If the public wants these projects, referendum will pass.

Thursday morning Round Up

This is so much easier when I keep caught up!

Madison (area) Schools Week Ahead

So, I can't figure out where the legal notice is . . . the one I can find is blank. But obviously there are some meetings. TJ said he found it here, but the link doesn't work for me. So this is all I can tell you . . .

What Emails Didn’t the Alders Get?

141 of them total plus 33 web contacts . . . here's the topics that were included . . . check to see if you email didn't get through and think about re-sending (if its not too late)

Chief Koval Violates Police Code of Conduct

Let us count the ways . . . there are so many I'm sure to miss some and just skipped over some, so please, play along. I think the Common Council needs to censure him. His behavior was atrocious and he's not above following the police department Code of Conduct. He's setting a terrible example for others under his command and someone has to check this megalomaniac's power on behalf of the citizens of this city.
