Police Will Do Nothing To Address Racial Disparities in the 8:1 Arrest Ratio

He was asked the question 5 - 8 times that I was present and Chief Koval points in every other direction and refuses to address the issue head on, what will change in the Police Department policies and procedures that lead to the 8:1 arrest ratio?

Fed. DOJ to Local Law Enforcement: Don’t Criminalize Homelessness!

This made me smile. They have a whole newsletter devoted to this topic . . . which I forwarded to the top brass, wonder if they even bother to read it? Or pass it along?

It’s all about the police this week . . .

Wow . . . aside from the mayor and chief feud going on over the budget . . . there is just ALOT going on this week. The city council committee is coming out with their final recommendations on Monday, the council has Chief Koval's fees and the shootings and purchasing a Bearcat on their agenda and Thursday the ad hoc committee is meeting. Nowhere is there a public discussion about the top of State St, however. Take a peek! Then email (allalders@cityofmadison.com and mayor@cityofmadison.com), show up, register, speak up. Now is the time.

How Unaffordable is Madison/Dane County’s Housing?

The National Low Income Housing Coalition does my favorite, most useful report every year called Out of Reach. Their information is the easiest place to start to find out how bad housing is in Madison. Here's their snapshot of the area.

Maniaci: Screw the Public

They don't need proper notice . . .Maniaci sees no reason not to proceed with a vote at Plan Commission this evening on the Edgewater . . . so I'll explain it to her.

It only took 3 hours, 14 candidates, 2 rounds of voting and 8 alders to decide. In the end, the 14 candidates were reduced to 8, 3 made it to round 2.

Chief Koval: What’s Up With the Thin Skin?

Seriously, the council hasn't patted you on the back enough so you're lashing out? Ya need more "atta-boys" to make it through the day? You say you're not going to be PC. Well, I'm not either. You're full of crap. We see through your political bullshit. The public/voters/taxpayers will too. You're losing the confidence of the public. And focusing on how the council hurt your feelings by not congratulating you to your liking is not the leadership we need from someone in your position right now. Deflecting from talking about what this report will actually do, isn't going to make it go away. Let's have a real conversation about those policies!

Soglin has gone nuts

He wants to bus the homeless out our of Madison. Seriously. Demonstration today at noon.
