Ok, I think this is needed, but yikes, I don't know who would be a good person for this job - they'd have to be completely and totally politically tone deaf and yet quick on their feet to avoid the political nightmare this could become.

I can't believe how irresponsible Soglin is being in talking about the Occupy site. I wish he had visited it to see for himself and taken the time to meet some of the people staying there and find out about who they are, so he'd know how offensive his statements are

This might be the city week ahead, expect additions, since deadlines for the weekly meeting schedule now seem non-existent

Police are telling them one thing, the court and the city attorney said another . . .

Occupy. Summons, Complaint, Motion for Temporary Restraining Order and Brief in Support filed, parties served (they deny it), hearing held, no order issued but an agreement reached that people can stay past noon on Monday (til 4:00), structures (hoophouses) can stay til Wedensday at noon no matter what and after a hearing on Monday at 4:00 they may be able to stay even longer!

So, I have some staff people who are themselves looking for housing, and they are coming back and telling me new horror stories every day. The statistics are there to show things are bad . . . but in looking around, here's what I found.

Attorney's argue. They raise points to protect their clients. So, when the city attorney feeds us something, do we just swallow it whole? Or could the media or someone else stand up and question that opinion? Where is the people's attorney?
