City Week Ahead

21 (or 23?) meetings this week that we know of, more will likely get added. Some of them at such popular times at 2pm (parks and open space plan), 11am (Multicultural Affairs), 8am, 12:30, 2:30 (Early Childhood Care and Education), and noon (Surveillance Committee). Who has time to show up at those odd hours?

Housing is a Human Right – Now what will we do about it?

The City and County both passed resolutions declaring Housing Is A Human Right . . . and now we are holding a Summit, tomorrow, to talk about what to do about it! Copies are made, rooms reserved, packets being stuffed, panelists readying themselves . . . now all we need is you!

City Week Ahead

18 meetings, 7 on Monday, and meetings scheduled at such public friendly times as 11:00, 1:30, 2:30 and 1:00. 4 meetings are missing if you only look at the "official" city meeting schedule. If you want to know when the meetings are you have to look at the official schedule, in legistar and to be safe, the wall outside the clerks office . . .

Council Evicts Homeless Occupy Residents

When April 30th comes, almost 100 homeless people will have no where to go. Last night the council tripped all over themselves trying to convince themselves that they really cared about homelessness and affordable housing, but came up with excuse after excuse, helped by city staff, about why they had to vote to evict homeless people from their limited shelter and a place they spend with their new family that they call home.
