The RFP for updated farecard systems in Madison is moving forward. Here are some suggestions on how to write the RFP so that we can unleash the full talent of our community and the world in making it better.

Mental Health, Solitary Confinement and Incarceration Work Group, Length of Stay Work Group and Alternatives to Arrest and Incarceration Work Group. I spot some good people on these lists!!!

He will likely do more talking than listening. "Listening" will likely be limited and controlled. These are dog and pony shows for the upcoming budget. Rallying support for his next PR stunt. Since those of us with concerns are "raging lunatics" or "gloryholing nincompoops" according to our fine MPD, we will likely just be ignored. Praise for the department always welcome, he just can't get enough.

Well, I started reviewing 450 pages of old and new police policies and then they sent me a different version and its very hard to know where to begin - so I'll start here . . . In the policies I've found lots of things that need review, and a bunch of things that just seem to be missing. A thorough review will take much longer, but here's what I've found so far of concern on this particular policy of interest. Did you know police no longer have to give you a verbal warning before they shoot - as of 3/24/14 and there have been 3 fatal shootings in the past year with this (mew?) policy. All three persons shot were mentally ill, under extreme distress or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. So much for de-escalation

I've been a housing counselor for the Tenant Resource Center since 1991 when I was a volunteer housing counselor, I was the volunteer coordinator for about a year and a half, served on the board of directors and in 1995 (17 years ago!) I became the Executive Director. Things sure have changed over the years . . .

Yesterday I went to the Government Structure meeting and they spent most of the time talking about housing and transportation - and other basic needs that people need met before they are going to participate in government.

I have said over and over that the new brand of "fiscal conservatives" mean that if they are for it, there is no amount...

How can we communicate face to face with a person to discuss this letter? So far, all we've gotten is this. A lady that was scared to open the door but said she would pass the letter along, and locked doors and security cameras. I hardly doubt the three women trying to talk to them are that scary!
