Here's another one, still from Monday, but I am getting closer to getting them all done - I had technical difficulties and no time!

Everything except the alcohol issues . . . sorry its late, but there were 26 pages of notes and I went out for a beer after the meeting . . . that's what you get for free! But you won't find it anywhere else . . . this is what didn't make the news. There's some interesting issues that were discussed for a change.

I'm sure the police had this on their agenda for quite some time, but the public was just notified yesterday of the meeting tomorrow. FAIL! A new report with new recommendations (that I don't think the committee has seen) is out.

Ok, for multiple reasons I was looking at this, and I'm actually looking for some minutes from a particular committee due to my request for a copy of a report discussed at a committee being denied. (More to come) But this is deeply disturbing. How do you find the minutes to these meetings? Of the 132 "council discussions" in legistar since 11/1/2005, only two of them have minutes. Of the meetings not in legistar this year, but in the "additional meetings" page on the clerks site, of the 70 meetings, only 5 have minutes.

While most politically active students - from the Teaching Assistants' Association to the Student Labor Action Coalition to many members of the Associated Students...

The Cottage Grove Planning Commission recently approved the plans for the new CVs/caremark in Cottage Grove, "with almost no debate." ...

Watching these meetings are kinda a joke, they often spend more time congratulating people than doing anything of substance.

Wow . . . aside from the mayor and chief feud going on over the budget . . . there is just ALOT going on this week. The city council committee is coming out with their final recommendations on Monday, the council has Chief Koval's fees and the shootings and purchasing a Bearcat on their agenda and Thursday the ad hoc committee is meeting. Nowhere is there a public discussion about the top of State St, however. Take a peek! Then email (allalders@cityofmadison.com and mayor@cityofmadison.com), show up, register, speak up. Now is the time.

This is kinda cool, good for them. I want the city to do this too!

The 100 block of State St could be sleek and modern and exclusive, or . . . it could honor our history . . . you can learn more about an alternative vision for the block and why it is important and how we can save the landfills and reduce our carbon footprint.
