All their links work, but precious little info available on-line.

Quick Monday Morning Round Up

Hope you all had a good three day weekend . . .

Irritated with Urban Design Commission

Pssst, pay attention to how you impact others . . . if we've learned anything in the past month, its that public process matters....

In Support of Take Back the Land

Organizations come out in support of Take Back the Land and their attempts to show how the banksters can't have it both ways. They got the bail outs and the homes! They are calling for an apology from Alder Lisa Subeck and creative leadership from her and the Mayor.

New Traffic Signals on Mifflin Bike Path

This sounds like a good idea to me! Public input needed Tuesday.

Council Recap Part II

Well, I'm ready for a new laptop! But for now, this external keyboard will do. Here's the rest of the meeting.

Too Many Needs

This is from last Wednesday, but I can't get it out of my mind. Too many needs, so don't tell anyone we can help them? Sounds harsh. But what else are agencies supposed to do, if you spend all your time turning people away, you have less time to help those that you can. I don't have any good answers, except we just keep talking to people to see if there is anything else we can do to help them beyond what they are asking for. Still, its takes a lot of time . . . and patience . . . and then the other needs pile up.

No Snow Emergency Tonight Either?

Wow, this is an odd new strategy. 6 inches of snow last night, no snow emergency. 6 - 8 inches of snow tonight and no snow emergency. I think we need to define what a snow emergency now means so people can know what to expect.

Capitol Happenings Not to Miss!

Nicely summed up by the Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice and others, just passing along information.

Short Week Ahead . . .

7 meetings . . . .

Horror Film Festival/WYOU Fundraiser

Hey, this isn't exactly my thing (but I have some freaky friends/boyfriend who think this is fun), but that is the beauty of WYOU . . . there's something for everyone!
