Don't worry, not even the mayor knows? Things have changes since I was on the council and worked on a committee about surveillance cameras (2004?, 2005?). Seems as tho the staff have developed an almost hostile attitude about even telling the alders what they are doing. I was just curious, but stumbled into this.

Cancellations and additions:

So, I started blogging and it wasn't going well because I missed a few things . . . but turns out, no matter how hard I tried, I would have missed that last hour of the meeting because it was shouted down. The board kept going, voting with a thumbs up or thumbs down with staff yelling to them what they were voting on. Conservative superiors were upset they didn't get to debate and in the end were threatening to look into legal ways to declare the meeting invalid . . . and in effect, derail the jail.

The Monona Grove School District recently held held their annual meeting. Typically these are sparsely attended and uneventful. This...

8 more meetings before 4pm . . . 12pm, 1:00, 2:00, 8:15, 8:30, 9 - you available to go to any of those "public meetings?

I think the biggest question they have that needs an answer is about the well - if people are going to be doing laundry and taking showers and using restrooms at an increased volume, how will that affect the well? They will be meeting tonight at 5:30 (burr Oaks) and 7:00 (Arboretum) to get answers. Well, to ask questions, not sure they will get answers.

This weeks Herald Independent, the paper of record for the Monona Grove School District, had an interesting column from their latest Cottage Grove...

35 meetings, several cancelled, several don't have agendas and several didn't make it on the clerk's list but are listed in legistar . . . and of course, at least a third of the meetings are held before 5:00 . . . what a mess, I'll try to help make sense of it . . .

Give them laced heroin? Fill sprinklers with pepper spray and turn them on? What else did the police suggest as strategies to get homeless people off the top of State St.? And remind me, what did that police code of conduct say?
