Mark your calendars for the the 17th and the weekend before . . .

There are 40 seats up for election between the Dane County Board and Madison School Board only 4 of the seats are being challenged. And once again, people who have never run for election are walking into seats. What these two entities have in common, is that they rarely get regular coverage from the Wisconsin State Journal and other other media outlets (who mostly get their news from the Wisconsin State Journal).

Fighting Poverty Coalition, Madison Urban Ministy, Community Action Coalition of South Central Wisconsin, UTI (Union de Trabajadores Inmigrantes), Take Back the Land - Madison, Freedom Inc, Progressive Dane and our many and growing coalition members are speaking up, because this is unacceptable.

Part Two. More messed up information.

It's been a while . . .

Is this a staff decision? I don't think so. This was a high priority for many of the County Board members and I think they might have something to say about it. Three years in a row . . . winter is coming, a permanent comprehensive day center has been promised - no more band-aids!

Since people are thinking about elections today (If you're not, you should be! Don't forget to vote!) I thought I'd post some information about when and where a tenant and when a landlord can post yard signs.

So, rumor has it, Mark Clear owns stock in Exact Sciences and recently tripled his investment, and yet he sponsored the resolution to give them $2.5M, voted on it at the city council meeting and failed to disclose this on his statement of interest forms or at the council meeting and he didn't disqualify himself from voting. Seriously? Yes, seriously.

I got some miscellaneous to talk about, meetings, input (about police) needed, random stuff.

No matter what the officials might tell you, not everyone gets into shelter and in this cold weather, that could mean the difference between life and death. Check out what various churches, community volunteers and private citizens have been doing!
