I feel like we have been over and over and over this but . . . apparently, local governments still feel like they can ignore state law and just throw out people's property that they find. And they even put it in writing. Duh!

What do you think of Madison’s Community Policing?

Having learned all about community policing as an undergraduate with a Criminal Justice degree - I have lots of opinions. Madison was always held up as the model police department - but when I got on the council and watched us erode our community policing efforts, it was horribly sad to me. Now, you all have the opportunity to let the police department know what you think about their "community policing".

If you ask anyone in the city, the two tools we have to create affordable housing are WHEDA tax credits and TIF. I disagree those are our only tools, but they are two major tools we have . . . and one of the two is in jeopardy . . .
