It was supposed to be a short meeting . . . but the community isn't giving up on derailing the jail. They had to use the overflow room again - there were people in the hallway that wouldn't fit into the room again at the beginning of the meeting. The meeting was disrupted a few times and ended with more voting with thumbs up or down.

With this being a leap-year, and the great day fast approaching, I hereby declare February 29th as "Complain about alternative transportation day."   So how about...

Didn't actually find any . . . but didn't expect to. The media didn't cover our other good works/news/the rally, but they did cover people being arrested. And, it must have been the right thing to do . . . as we were able to help a friend out in the process.

Monday is the anniversary of when Dr. Martin Luther King got shot, so the unions are pulling out the stops and wanting to get everyone to the capitol in a Memphis to Madison rally. Here's the events they are promoting. And some others I think are of interest. And please, ask your favorite local candidate what kind of help they need this weekend, Monday and Tuesday as they struggle to get the word about about their candidacy with all these distractions.

This looks kinda messed up - I see 6 meetings in legistar that aren't on the weekly schedule and no indication that they are being cancelled. That's more than usual, in addition to the 4-10 "late" meetings that usually pop up - so, stay tuned! Tonight is budget night at the finance committee!

I'll update this throughout the day. The deadline is at 5:00 today. Yesterday, there were three new candidates that filed, one against Marsha Rummel, two against Brian Solomon. And yes, Solomon filed yesterday, the only incumbent left . . . Paul Skidmore.

Bad weather coming up next week (or weeks?), no plans. -30 windchill predicted on Tuesday and no one works over the weekend to coordinate plans.

It is a question I get asked daily these days . . .

7 of 16 meetings or 44% start at 5:00 or before, so if you work til 5:00 you will missing them in their entirety or at least the beginning. Sorry its late, there was only one meeting yesterday.
